Daughter’s room

Before moving in to our house 2 years ago I already had my 8 year old room planned (she was 6 when we moved in), I even started buying some of the decorations. I also knew I wanted to do Board and batten to her accent wall…but the Board and batten project needs another written blog on it’s own so stay tuned. I do want to talk about the decorations and how I was able to visualize her room even before moving in.

I love to visualize a room and this is why I like to do a design mood board before I start any project, I get to see how every Decor I picked would look like and if I don’t like the look of it I just pick another , a design board will also keep you on track especially if you’re on a Budget!

a design board can be simple, this was the second time I was changing some the Decor in my daughter’s room so the design board was very simple since I wasn’t going to change too much . After I have the design moodboard I get to start ordering the Decoration and start decorating …that’s the part I love most!

Her room was so easy and so fun to work with, I stayed in the Boho style. At the time of working in her room I reached out to Loomwell Home goods and asked them if they wanted to Collaborate with me and they accepted. It was such a Blessing to work with amazing Company that offers so many options on wallpaper and the quality is amazing !!

As time goes by and you read more of my Blogs, you’ll start to notice how much I love decorating with Wallpaper . It’s so easy to work with and budget friendly to add to any statement Accent wall. I will also make sure to talk more about Accent walls on another post.

I absolutely fell in love with this Wallpaper. So colorful and fun ..I did ask her if she liked it as well and she sure did !!

I painted the board and batten “Alabaster” by Sherwin Williams and I think it was the perfect Color since the wallpaper was colorful enough !

I was on the search for a swing chair, she loves the Serena and Lily swing chair we have in the playroom so I knew by adding one in her room would be perfect !. I was on a budget so when I found this swing chair for $59.99 at Amazon , I knew it would be perfect in this little corner next to the window. The bedding is from Pottery barn kids, I love their bedding it is a bit more but the quality and plus is non toxic is a plus for me. I love the TENCEL bedding especially this Quilt but unfortunately the color I got her is not available, but I’m loving this TENCEL Day dreamer cotton comforter and shams. I mean you can’t go wrong with any of the bedding from Pottery Barn kids.

I also love this Loloi Rug and the price was perfect as well, I do have a 5x7 and she has a twin bed. I also love these Velvet curtains, the Rose color matched the wallpaper so well. I usually order curtain panels 96” in length but this time I ordered 84” in length because knowing my daughter she’ll be stepping all over them since I Like my curtains to just fall on the floor ! Hers did hang longer but because I place the curtain rod a bit lower. But since she has a small room and by placing a curtain panel higher it will make her room look a bit bigger so later on i might just do that.
